The final round of fixtures in the English Premier League for 2019-2020 season will take place on Sunday July 26 while the 2020-21 season will begin on Saturday September 12 and will end on Sunday May 23, 2021.
A statement from the Premier League reads: “Premier League Shareholders today agreed to start the 2020-21 Premier League season on 12 September 2020″.
However, the start date for clubs still playing in European competitions (Champions League and Europa League) is still under discussion.
The Champions and Europa League will restart on 7 and 5 August and the finals slated for 23 and 21 August respectively.
The teams still playing in the Champions and Europa League includes; Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Premier League is the apex football competition in England, it was suspended for three months due to the coronavirus pandemic. Liverpool are the current champions after a 30-year wait, with their last win coming in 1990
