2021 AFCON Qualifiers: We will come out on top – Leon Balogun

Nigeria defender Leon Balogun says the Super Eagles will come out on top when they visit the Leon Stars of Sierra Leone in the reverse fixture of the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier in Freetown.

A brace from Everton midfielder Alexander Chuka Iwobi, a lone goal from Napoli striker Victor Oshimen and the Villarreal winger Samuel Chimerenka Chukwueze gave the Eagles the lead in the first-half.

But the visitors pulled a goal back close to end of the first half through Quee Kwame before completing the comeback in the second half.

Reacting to the outcome of the game, the Rangers defender said
when you achieve success never allow it get into your head on his official Twitter handle.

“Never let success get to your head and never let failure get to your heart”.

He continue by expressing confidence that they will get back to winning ways.

“We will come out on top of this”

Despite the draw the Super Eagles still maintain their lead in Group L with seven points. The both teams will meet again on Tuesday in Freetown for the reverse fixture.
