Chelsea vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Preview: Wolves will travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea on Sunday, the final match day in the Premier League this season.
Currently, the Wanderers occupy sixth-place on 59 points after their 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at Molineux on Monday, one point ahead of Tottenham Hotspur who occupy seventh-place on the table.
Wolves need a win at Stamford Bridge to seal the access they have gain to the qualifying rounds of the Europa League next season but if they draw or lose and Spurs win their match against Crystal Palace they will drop to seventh-place which means they will not place in Europe next season, if Arsenal beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
On the other hand before the 5-3 defeat the Blues suffered in the hands of the Premier League champions Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday, they were third on the table but after that humiliation in the hands of the Reds they currently occupy fourth-place on the EPL log.
The Blues need a win or draw to seal their qualification to the UEFA Champions League next season but if they lose they must pray the Red Devils beat the Foxes who currently occupy fifth-place on the table and are also fighting to secure a champions league spot.
N’Golo Kante is unlikely to be back from a hamstring problem in time for this game. Billy Gimour is out.
Chelsea have won eight of their 11 Premier League fixtures against Wolves, losing twice and drawing once.
Their last meeting ended in a crushing 5-2 win for the Blues at Molineux last September.
