AFCON, CHAN and others Postponed

The Total African Cup of Nations (AFCON) has been postponed due to the coronavirus that has ravaged the world.

The Confederation African Football (CAF) announced this on their website www.cafonline.com after the meeting they hold today Tuesday June 30, 2020 via video-conference.

Here are the outcomes of the meeting:

Total Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Cameroon 2021
The Total African Cup of Nations that is suppose to held in 2021 has now been rescheduled for January 2022.

Total African Nations Championship (CHAN) Cameroon 2020
The African Nations Championship that is suppose to take place this year has now been rescheduled for January 2021 in Cameroon.

Total Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AWCON) 2020
The 2020 edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations has been cancelled.

Meanwhile, the CAF Women’s Champions League will be launched in 2021.

CAF Interclubs 2019/20 season
The Total CAF Champions League and Total CAF Confederation Cup, will resume in September with a Final Four (4) format. Semi-Final matches will be played in a single match.

CAF Awards 2020
The 2020 edition of the CAF awards has been cancelled.
This means Sadio Mane who is the reigning winner the longest player to hold the award since it was launched in 1992.
