A senior civil servant has been arrested in Niger state after he was traced to have placed his uneducated brother’s name on a Federal Government payroll for 11 years.

It was reported that Mohammed Ndanusa who worked for the Ministry of Health  was arrested after illegally placing his brother, Tanimu Ndanusa, an okada rider, on the payroll since 2009.

The cat was finally let out of the bag on Tuesday, September 1, when Tanimu Ndanusa was asked by his brother to come to the Ministry for screening as there was an ongoing physical verification for all civil servants in the state.

It was revealed that when Tanimu appeared before the panel, he did not come with any certificate.

He could barely even speak, like a senior civil servant on Level 14.

The two brothers, Mohammed Ndanusa and Tanimu Ndanusa have been arrested by the police, and Mohammed Ndanusa has since confessed to the crime.

They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
