COVID-19: India becomes second worst-hit

India has become the second worst-hit country by COVID-19 as the cases of coronavirus in the country continues to sky rocket.

In less than 24 hours, the new cases recorded was about 90,802 which takes the total number of cases in the country to 4,204,613 (Four million, Two hundred and four thousand, six hundred and thirteen) cases.

In the space of thirteen days, India increased from a total of 3 million cases to four million positive cases.

According to the Indian Health Ministry, less than a quarter of these cases are active and the recovery rate is more than 77%,

The Indian government has stepped up testing capabilities with over a million tests every day, which is one reason for the spike in cases showing up in smaller towns, cities, and rural India.
