The owner of Napoli who doubles as the club president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has tested positive for coronavirus, the Serie A club announced yesterday September 10.
A Napoli statement read: “SSC Napoli announces that president Aurelio De Laurentiis tested positive for COVID-19 following the swab carried out yesterday.”

De Laurentiis was present in a Lega Serie A general assembly in Milan on Wednesday alongside officials from other leading Italian clubs.
The 71-year-old who is the son of film producer, Luigi De Laurentiis, has brought Napoli to life since he bought the club in 2004 after they went bankrupt and was relegated to the third division of Italian Football.
Napoli lifted the Coppa Italia last season with a 4-2 penalty shoot-out triumph over Serie A champions Juventus following a dire goalless draw.
Napoli will begin their 2020-21 Serie A season away to Parma at Stadio Ennio Tardini stadium on Sunday September 20 by 11:30 am
