As usual Onuachu has gone into quarantine but the match will continue as planned. The test was conducted on Tuesday June 7, 2020.

In March 2019 Onuachu received his first call-up to the Super Eagles by the German tactician Genor Rorh.

On Tuesday March 26, 2019 he scored his first goal for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a friendly match against the Pharaohs Egypt.

He was part of the Super Eagles team that won bronze medal at 32nd edition of African Cup of Nations hosted by Egypt in 2019.
