The management of Nigeria Professional Football Club (NPFL) Enugu Rangers has presented a cheque of 20 million Naira to the family of Late Ifeanyi George.
Ifeanyi died in a car accident on his way to Lagos along with his teammate Emmanuel Ogbu and Eteka Gabriel, a friend of George.
The car smashed into a parked articulated vehicle on the Onitsha-Agbor-Benin road expressway.
The Flying Antelopes presented the money from the club insurance policy, Ten million Naira (N10,000,000) for his immediate family, Eight million Naira (N8,000,000) for his daughter’s education and Two million Naira (N2,000,000) to his girlfriend.
Few months ago the club also retires his jersey number 15 in honour of the services he rendered while he was alive playing for the club.
The 26-year-old late Ifeanyi George joined the Flying Antelopes (Enugu Rangers) from the People’s Elephant (Enyimba) and won two caps for the Super Eagles.
