Saturday, September 19, was a sad day for the family of Daniel Chibuike Ikeaguchi, a 20-year-old boy who was gruesomely killed by the men of the Special-Anti Robbery Squad (F-SARS) in Elelenwo, Rivers State.
According to sources, it was reported that the late Daniel Chibuike popularly known as Sleek, was stopped by some SARS officials while coming back from visiting a friend of his identified as Reuben.
Narrating the incident, the sister of the deceased, Maureen revealed that while her brother was on his way back from visiting Reuben, they came across men of the Special-Anti Robbery Squad when Sleek asked that they walked faster so they won’t be arrested.
While walking fast, the SARS officials noticed them and started shouting ‘Thief’ ‘Thief’ so that passerby’s would apprehend them of which they did.
Going further, she disclosed that when they were stopped and search, they found nothing on them, but they heard gunshots and Sleek was gunned down.
His corpse was dumped in the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital after several pleas from Reuben to take him to a closer hospital which the SARS officials refused.
Speaking on the incident, the grieved father said;
I have lived in the north for 12 years and i never lost a finger. I came back here, only for somebody to waste my son, there was no war, there was no fight, there was no riot, not like the boy was involved in any fracas, not that he was stealing, not that he was robbing. Just cold-bloodedly, they wasted this boy for me. God, avenge my son for me. Avenge his blood.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.
