The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the reopening of all schools in the nation.

Speaking during a press conference on Friday, the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu made the announcement.

According to him, all unity schools are to reopen on October 12 while states and private schools are free to determine their date of resumption.

He also encouraged the schools and their management to ensure that they adhere strictly to the covid-19 guidelines set aside by the presidential task force.

The Minister also warned that if there is any outbreak from schools who fail to follow the guidelines to curb the virus, such schools will be closed down with immediate effect

Basic and tertiary institution were closed in March in the heat of the Coronavirus outbreak.
