Following the recent statement by the Federal Government of Nigeria, asking all account holders to fill and submit a Self-Certification Form or risk being unable to access their accounts, the Federal Government have taken a U-Turn on the matter.
The Federal Government of Nigeria deleted the earlier tweets and tendered an apology to its citizens, through its official twitter handle.
According to the tweet, the Self- Certification Form, does not apply to everyone.
The tweet read;
We apologize for the misleading tweets (now deleted) that went up yesterday, regarding the completion of self-certification forms by Reportable Persons. The message contained in the @firsNigeria Notice does not apply to everybody. FIRS will issue appropriate clarification shortly
