Man allegedly sets fire on wife's property over

A 45-year-old businessman, Andrew Oteri, who allegedly set his wife’s property on fire over infidelity appeared on Thursday in Okitipupa Chief Magistrate Court in Ondo State.

The Prosecution Counsel, Inspector Ayodeji Omoyeigha, told the court that the defendant on July 6 at about 8:00 PM in No 22, Pamal Street, Igbodigo, Okitipupa in Okitipupa magisterial district, committed felony with malicious damage.

The defendant was charged on two counts of felony and malicious damage

Omoyeigha also alleged that the defendant burnt his wife, Moyinoluwa’s bed, mattress, four big coolers, clothing and shoes, all worth N236,000.

However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the crime.

Andrew was granted bail to the tune of N500,000 with sureties.

Ikujuni ordered that the surety must present evidence of one year tax clearance.

The case was adjourned until September 30 for further hearing.
