Bruno Fernandes consolation goal for Manchester United was not enough to send the Red Devils to the FA Cup final of the 2019/20 season.
Bruno scored from the penalty spot in the 86 minute when Callum Hudson-Odoi fouled Anthony Martial in Chelsea’s eighteen yard box in the 85 minute.
In the first half Olivier Giroud the man the fans called the “headmaster” put Chelsea ahead but this time not with his head but his leg, when he scored with a skillful touch from Cesar Azilicueta’s right-wing cross in the 11 minute of first half stoppage time.
Mason Mount double the lead for the Blues in the first minute of the second half with a threatening 20-yard shot outside the eighteen yard box.
The game was over for the Red Devils when their captain of the day Harry Maguire turn the ball into his own net in the 86 minute to make it three goals for the Blues.
The performance of United goalkeeper David De Gea was really poor on the night, he was full of errors and Chelsea capitalize on it.
Chelsea have reached their 14th FA Cup final; indeed, only Arsenal (12 including 2019-20) and Manchester United (20) have made the final on more occasions than the blues.
United have been eliminated from the FA Cup by Chelsea for a sixth time (including three of the last four seasons) – only Arsenal (7) have knocked the Red Devils out of the competition on more occasions.
Chelsea are the first side to beat Manchester United since Burnley in the Premier League back in January, ending United’s 19 game unbeaten run in all competitions.
The Red Devils will now turn their attention to the top four race in the Premier League as they host the Hammers on Wednesday by 6pm while the Blues will hope to strengthen their third position on the table when they take on the champions the Reds at Anfield on Wednesday by 8:15pm.
