Napoli has signed Super Eagles striker Victor James Osimhen from Ligue 1 club Lille for a fee reportedly around €50million.
The 21-year-old striker penned down a five-year contract which will keep him at the Serie A club till 2025.
Osimhen spent just one season in the French Ligue 1 with Lille and the deal makes him one of Africa’s most expensive signings.
The Nigeria international won the Golden Boot and Silver Ball awards
at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile with the Nigeria national U-17 football team also known as the Golden Eaglets that won the tournament.
In the 2019-20 French Ligue 1 season, Osimhen played 25 matches scoring 13 goals to emerged as Lille’s top scorer.
