Nigeria 0-1 Algeria: Bensebaïni’s lone goal gave the Desert Foxes the victory

Amir Selmane Ramy Bensebaïni who plays as a left back or centre back for Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach scored the only goal of the match as Nigeria loose 0-1 to Algeria at the Worthesee Stadium, Klagenfurt, Austria in an international friendly match on Friday (October 9, 2020).

Bensebaïni put the African Champions ahead six minute into the game, when Super Eagles defence failed to clear their lines from a corner kick.

Bensebaïni just tap the ball into the net with his left foot, after he nod the ball and the ball hit his teammate and fell nicely to him.

 

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa started from the bench, while new Watford signing William Troost-Ekong led Gernot Rohr’s men as captain in Austria.

Gernot Rohr started FC Midtjylland midfielder Frank Onyeka in the middle of the park.

Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi have just three regulars in his line up, the team’s captain Riyad Mahrez, Aissa Mandi and Ramy Bensebaini.

Metz midfielder Farid Boulaya makes his first debut for Belmadi’s side, while Haris Belkebla who plays for Ligue 1 club Brest as a midfielder and defender Reda Halaimia who currently plays for K Beerschot VA in the Belgian First Division B both makes their second appearance for the African Champions.

The defeat by the Desert Foxes
was the 11th the Super Eagles have suffered under Gernot Rohr and It also ended their five match unbeaten run of three wins and two draws.

Nigeria will play Tunisia on Tuesday in another international friendly on at the Jacques Lemmans Arena.
