The body in charge of organizing, regulating and promoting the top tier League in Nigeria, the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), the League Management Company (LMC) has announced that the league will kick off on Sunday December 27.
The LMC took to their official twitter page to announce this today Saturday December 19.

They continue to that steps have been taken to ensure full compliance with the mandatory COVID-19 protocol with the government briefed through the sports ministry.
The Apex league in Nigeria went on an emergency break owing to the Coronavirus pandemic on March 19, before the league was called off in July after consultations between the league’s organising body and participating clubs.
Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt finished in second place behind league leaders, Plateau United of Jos with 45 points from 25 games and have a goal difference of +13 before the league was ended using the Point Per Game (PPG) model due to the Coronavirus pandemic to determine the clubs that will represent Nigeria in the CAF club competitions.
Former league champions Enyimba finished second on both the PPG and Weighted Points Per Game (WPPG) tables behind first place Plateau United while Rivers United finished third.
