A Nigerian filmmaker has revealed the outrageous price he bought Hydroxychloroquine sulfate in a Pharmacy in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Ever since the viral video surrounding the effectiveness of Hydroxychloroquine in treating the coronavirus by Dr. Stella Immanuel, the vaccine has become sought after.

According to the Filmmaker, Director Solomon  who expressed shock over the  price of the vaccine which was sold at N50,000,

He said;

When vaccines finally comes, Nigerians would build houses off the backs of poor people… People in Government will sacrifice the people they are supposed to serve.

However, some Nigerian pharmacists reacted to the tweet, stating that there is a difference between Hydroxychloroquine sulfate and  the Chloroquine Phosphate.

They also revealed that the both drugs were actually used for different purposes, adding that the Hydroxychloroquine sulfate had always been expensive.

  1. Most times these stuffs are not this expensive neither is it the fault of our leaders….but the people selling it just want to make excess gain and probably cheat people so they tend to shoot up the price 🤦🏾‍♀️Without considering people

  2. To set the record right, those pharmacies did not just hike the price. They are selling based on the manufacturers’ price( cost price).

    It’s quite unfortunate that what we do in this country is more of importation than manufacturing.
    It was gathered that the said Pharmacy actually procured the drug for 40k and pegged their selling price at 50k. It’s really not their fault.
