A pregnant woman and two others have been arrested by the Edo state police command for alleged armed robbery.
When they were questioned about their e mode of operation, one of the suspects disclosed that they use the pregnant lady as a decoil by having her pretend as though she in labour and subsequently robbing unsuspecting victims who stop to help.
The public relation’s officer gave the names of the suspects as Jumoke Akanbieme, Osagiede Izevbokun and Godfrey Okonide.
On how they were arrested, the police spokesperson said
A man driving a Toyota Car met the lady at M.M Way in Benin and stopped to help. The men later alighted and forced the man to drive to Upper SAKPOBA road where the car was snatched. The car was to be dismantled as spare parts for sale when the police from Ugbekun Division swooped in on them and arrested the suspects.
The woman who is 9 months pregnant claims that she was lured to crime by her husband.
While the other suspect, Nwabuzor admitted that they have stolen so many cars as a syndicate.
