The Next Radio Star Season 3 has come to an end. The programme is a journalism training for aspiring Radio/TV stars.

The season 3 kicked off on Sunday June 14 2020, and came to an end on Sunday June 28, 2020.

It was a two weeks of intensive lectures.

Over thirty (30) world class broadcast journalists and media experts lectured almost two hundred (200) students online.

The lecturers were:

Tom Rennie who is the Executive Editor of Talk Sport in the United Kingdom. He is one of the best sport commentators in the world.

Nishat Lahda who is a broadcast journalist with over three decades of experience. She is one of the most respected names at the British Broadcast Coporation (BBC World Service).

Mr. Oluwatoyin Ibitoye who is the current Super Eagles Media Officer. For many years, he was the face of Sports on Channels Television.

The full list Tom Rennie, Peter Okwoche, Emeka Enyadike, Adurotomi Bolade, Colin Udoh, Ebenezer Wikina, Nishat Ladha, Chuma Nnoli, Amanda Onene, Kenny Ogunmiloro, Mimi Fawaz, Abigail Isaiah Gogo-ogute, Milliscent Nnwoka, Solace Chukwu, Cassandra George, Deborah Alagama, Mitchell Obi, Charles Anazodo, Collins Okinyo, Deji Faremi, Bode Oguntuyi, Ify Onyegbule, Akosua Addai Amoo, Sunshine Chetty, Olalekan Ige, Usher Komugisha, Kabiri George, Oluwatoyin Ibitoye, Ronkie Giwa Onafuwa, Princess Patter Amadi, Gbenga Oresugun, Sandra Ezekwesii and Georgina Gory.

After the training each participant was awarded a certificate and a copy of a handbook which integrate the names, photos, designations and major thrust of lectures delivered by all the lectures/resource persons.

The handbook also include the names and complete profile of all the students who took part in the training.

Sammy Wejinya who is the facilitator invited some students to the radio stations (Beat, Classic and Naija Fm) were he work for practicals.

The practical section is done in batches because of the huge number and the uniqueness of the time (Covid-19).

Sammy is a multiple-award on air personality (Sports) with over 19 years experience, he is also the Media Officer and Director of Communications of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club, Rivers United FC.
