Diogo Jota netted a hat-trick as Liverpool annihilated their host 5-0 in Tuesday’s Champions League match at Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Italy.
Jota was the king of the night, 16 minutes into the game he put the Reds ahead and double the lead in the 33 minutes to end the first-half 2-0.
Two minutes into the second half Egypt international Mohammed Salah makes it 3-0 for Liverpool and his fellow African teammate Sadio Mane scored in the 49th minutes to take the scoreline to 4-0.
Portuguese international, Diogo Jota completed his hat-trick when he slotted the ball into the back of the net with an assist from Mane in the 54th minutes to take the score line to 5-0.
Liverpool’s 5-0 win was the biggest ever by an English club away to Italian opposition in European competition.
Liverpool will embark on a journey to the Etihad Stadium to play Manchester City on Sunday in the Premier League. Atalanta, meanwhile, will host Inter Milan at the Bergamo Stadium same day in the Serie A.
