Inter Milan will play Sevilla in the finals of UEFA Europa League final on Friday August 21, after beating Shakhtar Donetsk 5-0 at the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Sevilla ends Manchester United Europa League campaign on Sunday, August 16 after they came from behind to beat the Red Devils 2-1 at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne, Germany to be the first team to qualify for the final.
Goals from Lautaro Martinez, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Romelu Lukaku was all the Nerazzurri needed to send Shakhtar out of the Europa League.
Martinez scored his first Europa League goal this season in the 19th minute to put Antonio Conte’s men ahead, in the 64th minute Danilo D’Ambrosio added another goal to make it 2-0.
The Nerazzurri were not done, Martinez added another goal again to score a brace in the 74th minute as they took the tally to 3-0.
The former Manchester United striker, Lukaku, continued from were Martinez stopped as he scored a brace in the 78th and 84th minutes respectively to make it 5-0.
Inter’s 5-0 win was the biggest margin ever in a single UEFA Cup/Europa League Semi-final game.
The finals will be held at the RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne on Friday August 21, by 8pm but due to the coronavirus pandemic it will be played behind close doors.
